Benefits of Wearing a Bra

You might be wondering what even are the benefits of wearing a bra in the first place. There are actually many! Here are some of the most important ones.

They help uphold Cooper’s ligaments:

Cooper’s ligaments are made up of tough, flexible connective tissue which help to connect your mammary glands to your pectoral muscles. Over time, these can be worn down by the force of gravity. By wearing a bra, your breasts are given support and are therefore less affected by gravity. This allows them to sit higher and more importantly feel less heavy on your chest, relieving any discomfort. This leads me to my next point...

Bras help with posture:

Many people don’t realize that relieving some of the weight off of your muscles by wearing a bra can actually help to prevent spine problems concerning posture and back pain! Besides these health aspects, good posture is an important part of professionalism, sports and your overall confidence. Keeping a healthy posture is a great habit to have and wearing a bra helps to make it easier.

The importance of wearing a bra during physical activity:

This is when wearing a bra is the most important. During exercise, your breasts can move around about 3 to 4 centimetres, causing discomfort and pain. This also includes while walking! Therefore, it’s important to make sure to wear a sports bra while working out to avoid any stretching of Cooper’s ligaments or injury.
