Everything You Need to Know About Bralettes

With Apricotton’s new Perfect Bralette, you might be wondering what makes the style different from other bras and why you should wear one. You don’t need to search any further! Here’s everything you need to know about bralettes:

What is a bralette?

A bralette is a lightweight bra that traditionally has no underwire and is designed with keeping you as comfortable as possible in mind. Bralettes also tend to offer much more coverage than traditional bras, which is a reason why many girls also occasionally use them as tops, depending on the style of the bralette and the event.

Different bralette styles

Bralettes come in a variety of styles, including but not limited to these popular ones:

  1. The classic triangle bralette: Apricotton’s Perfect Bralette is a closet staple that seamlessly hides under any top. With it’s thin straps and lightweight moisture-wicking fabric, you’ll forget you’re even wearing a bra!
  2. Strapless bralette: Also known as a bandeau, a strapless bralette is always a great choice because it can also double as a normal strapless bra for when you’re wearing a top that leaves your shoulders exposed.
  3. Crochet bralette: This boho-style bralette is simultaneously a bra and a shirt! Crochet bralettes are especially perfect and comfortable for lounging around the house in.
  4. Lace bralette: Do you want to experiment with layering, but still want to look stylish while you’re at it? Lace bralettes are perfect for this, as their detailed designs mean that their straps are intended to be seen.

Why you should wear a bralette

Arguably the biggest perk of wearing a bralette is that it provides enough support for your breasts while also being comfortable enough for day-to-day wear (or even to sleep in) because most styles don’t include underwires. Another plus is that depending on the design of the bralette, it can also be worn as a top or layered under one, or even be used as a training bra for younger girls (I know I definitely wish that they were as widely available as they are today when I was going through puberty!). Oftentimes, bralettes are also much cheaper than a traditional bra which are definitely known to break the bank sometimes. Finally, while wearing a bralette there’s no need to worry about exact sizing, as they usually are quite elastic and have room to stretch as you grow (just like our Perfect Bralette!).
